There she meets the incredibly charming, confident, and handsome Augustus 'Gus' Waters ( Ansel Elgort), whose cancer is in remission after having his leg amputated the year before. Hazel ( Shailene Woodley) is a terminal cancer patient who reluctantly attends a cancer survivors' support group. Although the movie can sometimes get lost in its fluffy fatalism, The Fault in Our Stars still manages to tug at the heartstrings thanks largely to the mature, charming, shining performances from it lead actors.

It turns cancer into a club where only members know how to truly live, and that life on the inside has a unique set of values. Josh Boone's The Fault in Our Stars attempts to embrace the positive by smirking right back at cancer. These words want to turn a blind eye to suffering and instead dance around in sunshine and rainbows while tumors metastasize and organs fail. Words like 'humor' and 'love' rarely enter the conversation unless they're provided in the most mawkish context. We use these violent words because cancer causes pain and death.

Words like 'fight' and 'survive' are used. I am going to have to watch it again as I wasn't given the chance to properly watch it.Cancer is usually treated as a battle. I think if u want to bypass the annoying teenage girls, wait till it comes out on DVD. I HAVE NEVER LAUGHED SO MUCH AT WHILE WATCHING A SAD MOVIE IN MY LIFE. Looking like most of the movie goers.all teary eyed and puffy faces, but our tears were from laughter. We got the heck outta there once the credits rolled. But we couldn't help it, it was just TOO FUNNY. People must have thought we were loosing our heads with sadness. WE JUST COULD NOT STOP LAUGHING! We tried to make our laugher sound like sobs. I felt him choking back laughter and then I was choking back laughter and then we just burst out in gut wrenching laughter.

And my cousin and I just couldn't keep ourselves together. Girls clutching tissue boxes and their whole bodies convulsing in lamented moans. Then for the remainder of the film the cries turned to heavy sobbing. Then every 30 seconds we had to hear 'aThen.SPOILERS AHEAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!When we learn one of the leads is going to die.the whole theatre started llectively blubbering in unison. Seriously, the girl beside my cousin was actually biting down on her sweater, shaking and squealing. We both looked at each other and said 'what the heck did we get ourselves into?' Then once the lead male came on the screen, it was like we were transported to the 60's at a Beatles concert. Then when the films opening credits started, more screams.

Before the movie started the theatre people gave an announcement that after the film there would be a Q&A with the writer and the 2 lead actors via satellite. We found 2 seats finally in the middle of a row. You'll need it.10/10 ДЈ0's, telling him that it was a tear jerker, but that I had heard good things. I encourage EVERYONE to go see this movie no matter what age you are and bring a packet of tissues as well. The pacing was perfect, the acting was phenomenal, the direction, editing and cinematography was exceptional and overall, this movie is one of the best romantic comedies that have ever touched the face of the earth. I don't give out 10's easily, but there was seriously nothing wrong with this film. This is the first movie this year that I have given a 10. Hopefully I'm wrong, but thats the way it normally is. But knowing the academy this is just another teenie love story that will not be acknowledged at all. Their performances were so heartfelt and definitely Oscar worthy in my opinion. Seriously it makes the two characters feel real and alive, and at times I forgot this was fiction and not based on a true story. The acting perhaps was one of the best aspects of this movie. The editing was also great as shot after shot matched with the characters faces and where they were typical good movie editing stuff. Every shot matched the scene and felt real. Not a single shot felt odd or out of place. I'm rambling on and praising the movie now so I should probably get on with the review.The direction and cinematography was fantastic. I loved this movie and recommend it to everyone across all ages. I just thought this was going to be another teenie love story and boy was I wrong. Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Godzilla which was a massive surprise.
